StudyMarket Austria is a marketplace for verified study materials and tutoring. This page summarizes the security, privacy, and content controls we apply. It is maintained by our team and is not an independent certification.

Account security

• Authentication via email/password and Google sign-in.
• Passwords are hashed by our identity provider; we never see them in plain text.
• Sessions use short-lived tokens with secure refresh rotation.
• You can request account deletion at any time from your dashboard or by email.

Data protection

• Data is hosted in the EU and processed under GDPR.
• Row-level access controls restrict every record to its owner or the parties that need it.
• Secrets and payment credentials are kept server-side only and never shipped to the browser.

Payments

• Payments are processed by a PCI-DSS compliant payment provider. We never store full card numbers.
• Webhooks from the payment provider are signature-verified before any order is updated.
• Seller payouts go through identity verification before funds are released.

Content & marketplace integrity

• Sellers must be students or alumni of an Austrian university.
• Listings that violate copyright, contain malware, or break our Terms are removed.
• Tutor verification badges are granted by our team only — they cannot be self-assigned.
• Ratings and reviews are tied to verified purchases.

Reporting a security issue

If you believe you have found a vulnerability or are seeing abuse on the platform, please email security@studymarket.at. We aim to acknowledge reports within 2 business days. Please do not publicly disclose the issue until we have had a chance to investigate.

Reporting abuse or illegal content

To report a listing, message, or user, email support@studymarket.at with the URL and a short description. Under the EU Digital Services Act, we review notices of illegal content and act on them without undue delay.
